BBVA P2P Transaction Servicing

About P2P

P2P (peer-to-peer) Send encompasses a series of features designed to improve the sending and requesting of money between individuals and the visualization and understanding of its status.

Sending instant payments between individuals and businesses using a mobile phone number is known in Spain as Bizum and is the result of the collaboration of 34 banks in the country. However, this P2P sending method is known by other commercial names in different countries and has slight variations depending on the brand itself.

For several months, my team and I worked on updating different features that grouped the new updates in the money-sending and requesting flow.

Challenges

These were the main challenges of the project:

Adhering to and implementing each country's security regulations within the design.

Simplifying multi-contact transactions without making the user interface overly complex.

Adapting the service to meet the diverse regulations and user expectations of different countries.

Managing the increased data load and maintaining system performance with new features.

Goals

The main goals were:

Enable users to simultaneously send or request money from up to 10 contacts, improving efficiency and convenience.

Allow users to attach images along with transactions, providing additional context and personalization options.

Streamline the flow, making it more intuitive and user-friendly to enhance the overall experience.

Tailor the display and accommodate the unique characteristics of P2P services in different countries.

We added the functionality to send money to up to 10 users simultaneously, the ability to attach an image or photograph, and expanded the concept field to 300 characters.

Additionally, we included a wallet selection option, as in Peru there are up to 15 different companies that facilitate P2P money transfers.

P2P Dashboard and Transaction Detail

In addition to the Send and Request Features, we designed a Dashboard to give users full access and insight into both completed and pending transactions.

This dashboard allows users to take various actions on their transactions, such as refunding sent money, rejecting requests, and viewing detailed information, including any attached images, for both incoming and outgoing requests.

It is a redesign of the previous dashboard, now aligned with the bank's new visual design system and built for future scalability.

Overall Outcome

After months of dedicated work, the features of the P2P Transaction Servicing project are finally being developed and implemented across various countries, with Spain being one of the first to utilize these new functionalities.

This redesigned dashboard aligns with the bank's new visual design system and ensures scalability for future enhancements.

We are also collaborating with other countries to prepare for their adaptation and transition to the new designs, accommodating slight variations and different commercial names of P2P methods internationally.

This project represents a significant enhancement in the efficiency, security, and user experience of money sending and requesting, tailored to meet the unique needs of each market.
